European Chapter annual conference
The Qualification Directive on Minimum Standards, which has been Community law since last October, has been chosen as the focus point of debate at the Conference. Special emphasis has been placed on the issue of Subsidiary Protection which is a core issue for refugee judges in the European Union.
During the course of this year our Association is conducting a number of regional workshops in member states of the European Union focused on subsidiary protection which is a totally new departure for refugee judges. Rapporteurs have reportedback to the Conference on the interpretation given to subsidiary protection. The ultimate goal is to help with the development of a jurisprudence that is both acceptable and universally applicable amongst our colleagues.
PROGRAMME and the respective papers (for members only)
