 social transformation.&nbsp\; Despite the horrors they have endured\, refu
 gees discover strength and resilience while in displacement.&nbsp\; We nee
 d to empower them to contribute to their future and become agents of chang
 e.”\nThe IARMJ Americas Chapter Conference seeks to examine the theme of r
 esilience in our asylum systems through an in depth analysis and discussio
 ns about:\n\nthe impact of trauma and displacement on refugees and asylum 
 seekers\;\nthe challenges and sensitivities associated with working with v
 ulnerable populations\;\nthe impact on adjudicators of heavy workloads and
  hearing protection claims on a daily basis\;\nrecognizing and understandi
 ng our own biases and their potential impact on adjudications\;\nhow lesso
 ns learned from recent border surges can help to inform the creation of mo
 re resilient systems and processes that are able to withstand large influx
 es of applicants and designed to protect legitimate asylum seekers while m
 aintaining program quality and integrity\; and\nan exploration of generali
 zed violence in the region and its impact on assessing persecution on acco
 unt of a protected ground.\n\nThis conference is intended for judges/adjud
 icators of all levels working with member states’ asylum and resettlement
